MICAH LLOYD WOOD
LORRAINE
PHYSICAL
THERAPY
CENTER
Fargo, ND
The Lorraine Physical Therapy Center aims to be an addition to the Sanford South University Campus in Fargo, ND. The name comes from a part of the Sanford brand which features the Lorraine cross which often symbolizes health and healing. This out-of-the-box proposal aims to stand out in the all-brown brick landscape with this mainly steel and zinc exterior. The overall dynamic exterior aims to take datum lines from the existing building and combine them with different radiuses of joint movement. The core of the building is raised above the ground for a level of privacy in the upper floors along with creating a plaza-like area on the corner of two busy streets. This facility overall expands upon existing spaces along with adding other spaces to allow for new methods of therapy. Moving back outward the site gives opportunities for outdoor spaces for therapy. This facility aims to stand out in its environment and be a place of healing.
